π― What Is the D2 Startup Visa?
The D2 is a Portuguese residence visa for entrepreneurs and business owners who want to create or transfer an innovative startup to Portugal, in collaboration with a certified Portuguese incubator.
Once approved by IAPMEI (Portugal’s Agency for Competitiveness and Innovation), you receive a 2-year residence permit, renewable for a further 3 years. Family members may also apply for residency through family reunification.
After 5 years, you are eligible to apply for permanent residency or Portuguese citizenship β unlocking full EU mobility.
Application Requirements
- 1Detailed business plan, financial projections, and presentation deck
- 2Innovation or technology must be central to the business model
- 3Minimum investment capital of β¬5,146 in the company
- 4Clean criminal record and tax clearance certificate
- 5Business must project annual turnover or assets of at least β¬325,000 after 5 years
